"Transformative Nutrition: Manwati Rana's Journey to Wellness"

Manwati Rana, a 35-year-old housewife residing in Suklaphata 12 Khalla Tole, has a small yet lovely family comprising her husband, a son, and a daughter. While her children focus on their studies, her husband works as a farmer. Despite lacking formal education, Manwati attended literacy classes organized by United Vision Nepal (UVN).
A pivotal moment in Manwati’s life occurred during a nutrition training session facilitated by UVN. This training significantly altered her perspective and lifestyle. Prior to the training, Manwati grappled with various health issues, including weakness, fatigue, and difficulties performing simple tasks.
She admitted to lacking knowledge about a balanced diet and the significance of choosing the right foods for a healthy life. Manwati shared her cooking practices, revealing that she used to cut vegetables before washing them and vigorously washed rice. However, the nutrition training enlightened her about the importance of a balanced diet, delineating energy-giving, body-building, and body-saving foods.
Implementing the newfound knowledge, Manwati altered her cooking habits. She now washes rice lightly only once or twice before cutting vegetables. By incorporating extra food into their meals and consuming purified water from UVN’s project, Manwati and her family experienced a positive transformation. Her previous health issues diminished significantly.
Grateful for the UVN team’s project and the nutrition training, Manwati expressed her heartfelt thanks. Presently, she and her family lead a joyful and contented life, embracing the principles of a balanced diet and clean water for their well-being.
