Transformative Motherhood: Indira Chaudhary's Journey to Child Health

Indira Chaudhary, a resident of Daulatpur village in the Surunga municipality, lives with her mother-in-law, father-in-law, and husband. Her daily routine involves various household chores. Prior to receiving training from United Vision Nepal, Indira was unaware of the preparations needed for safe childbirth, the importance of health check-ups during pregnancy, and the role of nutrition in a child’s health. She didn’t understand the significance of colostrum milk and breastfeeding, nor did she realize that the entire family plays a role in the birth of a healthy child.
After attending the training, she learned about these crucial aspects, including the importance of additional food for the child and timely vaccinations. This knowledge prepared her for delivery. She arranged the necessary funds, basic items, and clothing, and chose to give birth in a hospital, understanding the risks associated with home births.
Previously, Indira used to discard breast milk, but after the training, she began to breastfeed her child, contributing to the baby’s health. The entire family participates in caring for the baby. Aware of the importance of timely vaccinations, she ensures her child is vaccinated regularly, resulting in a healthy child.
Now that her child has reached six months of age, she plans to follow the guidelines learned in the training regarding the child’s diet. She has found it highly beneficial to implement the rules learned in the training, which has helped her and her family avoid various risks.
Indira expressed her gratitude to United Vision Nepal for providing the training, stating that it helped her survive various challenges. She is a testament to the power of education and its ability to transform lives.
