"Flow of Relief: Sunita Khadka's Journey from Water Scarcity to Convenience"

I am Sunita Khadka, a young 21-year-old mother and wife, living with my two-year-old daughter in a household of five. It’s been four years since I got married, and during this time, the relentless struggle to secure enough water for our daily needs has been overwhelming. Every day, we had to endure exhausting 30-minute trek to the water source, fetching about seven buckets daily.
The scarcity worsened during the dry season when the only available water source was sometimes unfairly controlled by residents from the upper village. This sparked disputes and noisy quarrelling with neighbors, with some resorting to threats. We spent three precious hours each day just collecting water, creating an exhausting routine.
But a turning point came when a tap stand was installed right in our yard. This simple yet profound change drastically improved our lives. Now, we have the luxury of easily accessible water, transforming our daily routine and reducing tensions. I can dedicate more time to household chores and caring for my young daughter without compromising my health. The convenience of readily available water is a blessing that has positively impacted our family dynamics, fostering a sense of relief and improved well-being. I express my ecstasy and gratitude to this organization for this transformative intervention.
