"Flow of Relief: Gyani Maya Shyangtan's Journey to Accessible Water"

I am Gyani Maya Shyangtan, a 38-year-old woman with three sons, and my husband works as a driver. Balancing the roles of a housewife and a farmer, my daily routine revolved around fetching water from the river, our sole source for drinking water. The journey to the river and back home took an exhausting hour, a trip I had to make approximately four times a day. Unfortunately, this routine brought not only physical strain but also dangerous situations – slipping down hills, damaging my steel water vessel, and even a near leg-breaking incident.
During the rainy season, there’s a water source closer, about 15 minutes away, but the long queues made it more time-consuming than going to the river. The challenging and slippery path was something I wished to avoid, but survival needs compelled me to endure it.
The introduction of a water project has transformed our lives. Now, a tap stand stands in front of my house, providing a continuous flow of water. The days of spending hours on hazardous journeys to fetch water are over. With this new system, we can easily fetch water in just two minutes whenever we need it. The once daunting and scary days are behind us, replaced by the joy of having a tap stand right at our home.
My family and I express our deep gratitude to the organization for implementing this impactful water project. The tap stand has brought immeasurable relief and happiness to our lives, and we are sincerely thankful for this life-changing initiative.
