"Empowering Literacy: Bindu Chaudhary's Inspirational Journey"

Bindu Chaudhary, a fifty-two-year-old housewife residing in Baluwaphanta village, Kanchanpur district, is actively engaged in farming. Despite her age, Bindu harbored a long-standing desire to pursue education, inspired by witnessing her children and grandchildren attending school.
Her excitement soared upon learning about United Vision Nepal’s literacy classes in her village, prompting her to eagerly enroll. Despite facing ridicule from some villagers for attending classes at her age, Bindu found unwavering support from her family, particularly her husband, who encouraged her pursuit of learning.
Quick to grasp new concepts, Bindu’s literacy classes empowered her to read and write fluently, transforming her life in myriad ways. Previously unable to recognize numbers on a mobile phone, she now owns one and confidently communicates with her relatives.
Her newfound literacy extends beyond personal communication; she enjoys reading her grandchildren’s books and delving into health-related literature. Embracing social activism, Bindu eagerly participates in various training programs, illustrating her newfound zest for lifelong learning.
Bindu’s journey serves as a testament to the notion that education knows no age limits, and rural Nepali women can thrive given the opportunity. She expresses gratitude to United Vision Nepal for providing her with this invaluable opportunity to pursue education at any stage in life.
