Bio-Gas Project Reduced Financial Burden

Ms. Piriya Chaudhary is from Dubaha where United Vision Nepal has been launching various kinds of projects with tangible love of God for 2 years. She is from marginalized people group; so had been selected as a beneficiary of bio-gas & toilet. She has 7 members in her family. Almost all of their family expenses are managed from the agricultural income, so their financial status seems poor.

Although she would desire for bio-gas but her family were not able to afford for it because it needs huge investment which was beyond their capacity. She used to cook food with firewood which was also not easy to get. Community forest where they used to go for collecting firewood is open only for few days twice a year that would not be sufficient time for collecting firewood for whole year. Therefore, they had to buy extra and store it for the whole year. On the other hand, because of the smoke from firewood, it was not easy for her eyes to stay in the kitchen.

Now, Mrs. Chaudhary is using bio-gas and toilet properly in these days. She has no problem in her eyes while cooking. She can easily stay in the kitchen for longer time. She also knew that smoke from fire is very harmful for her lungs. She can do other minor works simultaneously while cooking so her time is also saved. Her financial burden is reduced. Now-a-days, her kitchen seems neat and clean than before. It’s easy to prepare food any time so physical stress also reduced of that family.

Finally, she expressed her happiness and said,” If UVN had not provided this bio-gas we would still be in financial burden; my health would be deteriorating; there would be more mental and physical stress.” She is so delighted and thankful to UVN for this project work.
